The Shape that Started it All

This week we head back to 1978 where we are first introduced to Haddonfield and the infamous killer, Michael Myers! What other film could I pick for this time of year?!

We follow escaped patient Michael as he makes his way back to his hometown on Halloween night, killing anyone who get in his way. Michael is slow and likes to stalk his victims, but he is strong and scary when he gets to them! Nick Castle does a great job playing the menacing killer, and we get a brief moment where he is unmasked, played by Tony Moran.

This was the film that first bought us our iconic scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays babysitter Laurie Strode. The film also stars the amazing Donald Pleasence as Michael's doctor.

In my house, this John Carpenter film is on every year at Halloween, and has been for many years. With a great cast, masked killer and iconic soundtrack, it's easy to see why this became a horror cult classic, and I'm sure I don't need to tell anyone to go watch it!
