Yeah that's right, I said it. Damien Casey's universe is way cooler than the mainstream DC!
If you've read any of his books before, you know you're in for a treat. Laughs, cringes from grossness, insane monsters, and relatable characters you can't help but love, are all on the menu. CHURCH OF SKATAN is no different! Even some of the villains are likeable AF, and have a mission that's tough to argue with sometimes, despite knowing it's not for the betterment of all mankind.
Billy, Dylan, Ethan, and Molly are the most adorable group, even though Molly isn't a part of it until later. They've faced real problems, their thought processes are some we've all experienced, and the dialogue sounds like conversations I've with my own friends.
Damien's monsters are absolutely diabolical. The joining of man and machine leads to a monster mash you've never seen before (and hope to literally never see). Their methods for attack, the appearances, and the unique way they have to be destroyed is incredibly creative.
