The Future of Horror - Boe Healy

The only reason Journey is calmly chewing on his bone in the background is that he didn't read what's inside this creepy cover! I'm so excited to see the next generation of horror authors already making waves, because that's exactly what Boe is - one of those who will be carrying the torch(es and pitchforks) at the forefront of the next crew!

I was honored to have met this super polite little dude at TBR Con last month, along with his wonderful frog plushie, and I never would have guessed the gears in that mind were already turning at such a spooky rate. If you didn't know who the author of this book was, it could pass as the work of an adult writer. Once you do know, somehow knowing that these ideas came from a young mind make them even more haunting. We all know kids have those incredible imaginations not yet hindered by life and all the limitations that are drilled into our psyches, and to witness that imagination in action is something we're fortunate to experience.

Lionel and Goldie Tails are devastated when their infant son is taken from them, and they're determined to find a way to get him back. Unexpected information comes from a mysterious old woman who knows more than she should, and it sets off a chain of events that gets far more gruesome than the Tails expected!

A huge thank you to the Healys for raising such an awesome little human!
