This week back in 1987, one of my all time childhood favourites was released. A great film for kids to take that step into horror, or for lover of the 80s, The Monster Squad is a MUST watch!
Some well known monsters- Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolfman, Mummy and Creature/Gill Man- take over a small American town in search of a special amulet. The only ones who can try to stop them are a group of kids who call themselves 'The Monster Squad'.
Andre Gower, Tom Noonan, Duncan Regehr, Michael Faustino, Stephen Macht and Ryan Lambert are just some of the cast involved. Everyone does a great job in creating wonderful characters. I loved watching this when I was younger and seeing the KIDS being the ones to stand up and save the town from the monsters!
The costume department did a fantastic job with the monsters, they all looked brilliant and the costumes still hold up now. The Mummy and Dracula's Brides always creeped me out as a kid.
This fun, 80s Monster movie is an absolute must watch for any horror fan. I'm so glad I got to grow up loving this movie for all these years!
