Skate or Die: Cult Film SHREDDER ORPHEUS Receives Novelization Book Launch + Live Event

Los Angeles, CA – The post-apocalyptic punk rock myth returns—this time in blood-soaked print.

Encyclopocalypse Publications is proud to unleash the official novelization of SHREDDER ORPHEUS, the hallucinogenic gutterpunk masterpiece from filmmaker Robert McGinley. Written by cult horror author David Irons (Night Waves, 7 Winters Alone), the book takes McGinley's underground classic and blasts it into the literary void, turning skater ghosts and satanic signal towers into something savage, soulful, and completely unhinged.

To celebrate, SHREDDER ORPHEUS will screen Thursday, April 24th at Brain Dead Studios in Los Angeles. A post-screening book signing with Robert McGinley will follow, alongside the official launch of the novelization.

“The film shines as a unique retelling of the ancient myth... the soundtrack is as surreal as the story structure and the passion for filmmaking bleeds into every scene.”

Film Threat, May 2024

ABOUT THE FILM & BOOK:

A futuristic reimagining of the Orpheus myth filtered through VHS static, DEVO vibes, and DIY apocalypse grit, SHREDDER ORPHEUS follows a skate rock god who descends into hell to rescue his wife from the hypnotic grip of a soul-devouring TV network run by Satan himself.

Irons' novelization deepens the descent—delivering a nightmare-fueled ride through a haunted, broadcast-blasted underworld. It's Heavy Metal meets Greek tragedy, with killer riffs and hellbound wheels.
