Hey y'all!
First of all, thank you for being here! The devastation across Western NC has affected many rural mountain towns in addition to hitting Asheville, Boone, etc., and we don't even know the full scope of the damage and the death toll yet. Proceeds for this anthology will be distributed towards the following:
WNC Regional Livestock Center helping farmers & animals affected by the flooding
Hearts with Hands supplying food and essentials to Buncombe county shelters
Don't Forget the Backroads campaign to aid Yancey County & Surrounding areas
Black Trans Collective to help black trans people impacted by the hurricane (Cat's Note: No website found for this specific collective, but check out the work of National Black Trans Advocacy Coalition Mission)
This list may update as needs for the affected areas change. This anthology's proceeds will continuously be donated to these areas for the purpose of rebuilding and maintenance.
If you are interested in participating in this anthology, first of all, you have my gratitude! Second of all, please feel out this form as completely as possible.
THEME: Folk horror and ghost stories, it doesn't have to be specific to Appalachia (although that is a bonus).
WORD COUNT: >8k loosely, but if you have something that goes over, that's totally fine!
ART: We welcome art!
POEMS: Absolutely!
If your piece has been previously published, please make sure you email its release form from the previous publisher along with your submission.
