“Horrorstor”, by Grady Hendrix
State: Ohio
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow!! This book was fun. Not only was the story great but the layout was unique.
This book was sitting on my TBR cart for years. I was looking for a book that I could binge in one sitting and this was it!!
Not sure if this is a genre but it feels like cozy horror - it is a fun romp through a haunted knock-off IKEA that still had a body count and some low-grade scares.
Most of the plot occurs during a single night. Furniture has been going missing or turning up with disturbing, unexplainable damage in the middle of the night and the culprit hasn't been caught on security footage. several of the Orsk employees spend the night in the showroom with the intent of catching the culprit. These Orsk may have more than they bargained for.
Hendrix does a great job of building up the story and introducing you to the cast. The horror is also slowly introduced. Once things start happening, you are instantly on a non-stop roller coaster until the very end.
