This week back in 1998 we were bought one of my favourite slashers ... Urban Legends. It starred a great 90s cast, including Jared Leto, Rebecca Gayheart, Tara Reid, Alicia Witt and Joshua Jackson, and even an appearance from horror greats Robert Englund and Brad Dourif!
The film follows a series of murders that seem to be based around local urban legends. We've all heard these similar creepy stories, which I think is one thing that makes it all feel a little more real. This film has such fun and creative kills, with a 'whodunnit' air of mystery throughout. When you get to the big reveal at the end, it's a good one!
The one particular scene with the killer in the back of the car always stuck with me. I still check my backseat before getting in my car now.
I have a lot of love and nostalgia for this one, growing up and watching this ALOT as a young teen, but I still think it holds up well today. It's a must watch for slasher fans.
