This week we are going over to France and back to 2003, when the crime horror Haute Tension was released. It's also known as High Tension in other countries.
Alex, played by Maïwenn Le Besco brings her friend Marie to visit her family at a little farmhouse in the country. Sadly, things take a turn for the worst when a man shows up and starts killing people.
This had been on my watchlist for a while, so I was glad to finally watch it. I questioned alot of things whilst watching as some of the kills seemed a bit unrealistic, and I was getting annoyed at our main character's cowardice. However, she turned it around in the end.
It was strange as I felt like the film was just getting started and getting into the good stuff, only to realise it was nearly at the end! There is a big twist that I can't say I saw coming, but once revealed makes you go back through and think of all the things that didn't make sense. Cécile de France did a great job playing Marie.
For all the praise this gets, I was a little underwhelmed in all honesty. Dont get me wrong, it was good and worth watching, but it just didn't feel much different to other films out there.
